Rain on glass effect for video and photos

Put your picture behind a rainy window: drops that bend it, run down the glass and leave clear trails through the mist. Set the rain with the sliders and compare it with the original, then open your own video or photo and export it at full resolution. It runs in your browser: your file is never uploaded.

How to add rain on glass to a video online

  1. Open your video or photo

Choose Open your own file: the editor opens with the effect, ready for your file (videos as MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV; photos as JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF). It opens in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

  2. Set the rain and compare

Amount sets how many drops there are, Size how big, Speed how fast they run and Mist how fogged the glass is between them. Compare shows the original beside the result; play a video to see the drops run.

  3. Export it

In the editor, export the video as MP4 or WebM, or the photo as PNG, JPEG or WebP, at its full resolution, with no watermark.

Amount, Size, Speed and Mist

Amount sets how many drops are on the glass, from a few to a downpour.

Size sets the larger drops' width, from 0.5 to 5% of the frame's shorter side, the smaller droplets scaled with them, so a 4K or a vertical export has the same rain as the preview.

Speed sets how fast the larger drops run down the glass, each at its own pace and in fits and starts, clinging, then slipping on and leaving a trail of droplets; at 0 they hold still. Mist sets how fogged the glass is between the drops, from clear to a soft blur; the drops and the trails they leave stay clear.

Drops drawn from your picture

Each drop is a small lens: it shows the picture round it upside down and squeezed into it, with a thin dark rim and a highlight, as a real drop on a window does. Because the drops are drawn from your own frames, they bend your picture, which an overlay clip, filmed through some other window, can't do.

Rain on glass, not falling rain

The rain is on a pane of glass in front of the picture. It doesn't add rain falling in the scene, splashes, lightning or the sound of rain, and nothing in your picture is redrawn: the drops and the mist bend and soften what is already there.

The same rain in the preview and the export

The rain moves with the video's own time, so a paused frame holds still and the export matches the preview frame for frame; a photo shows one still moment. Lights at night, neon, a face behind the glass or strong colour show the drops best.

Your files stay on your device

Everything happens right on your device, in your browser. Your videos and photos are opened, edited and saved there, and never sent anywhere.

Because nothing is uploaded, your files are safe: nothing can leak, and no one else, not even us, ever sees them. You don't need an account: one holds only your email address and the AI agents you let in, and signing in keeps a single cookie. An agent's instructions to your editor pass through our server and are deleted as soon as the editor has carried them out; your files never do. Without cookies, the site counts visits and a few choices, such as a preset or effect you pick and the format you export to, but never which files you open or anything in them.

Exports leave out hidden details such as where a video was recorded, and a shared link carries only your settings, never your file.

Files and browsers

Opens MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos and JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF photos, and exports MP4 or WebM, or PNG, JPEG or WebP, at full resolution, keeping the original sound where the browser can. Works in current Chrome and Edge on a computer or Android, in current Firefox on a computer and in Safari 26 or later; HDR video is converted to standard range.
